One of the reasons that we started Treats Happen was as a way to give back to various rescue groups. Being Boxer lovers, a group close to our hearts is Boxer Rescue Ontario. It was BRO's group of seven who needed rescuing that inspired us to give back.
Inspired by Salesforce's 1/1/1 philanthropy model we thought we could give back part of our sales, some of our treats, and some of our social media, like this blog post back to BRO.
We're sponsoring the upcoming Bowling Tournament, donating treats for the silent auction fundraiser and we've featured a number of Boxers looking for their furever homes.
We're changing the rescue group that we support each season and will be announcing our next rescue group shortly. Until the end of March 2015, 10% of each sale will be donated to BRO, and we are matching 10% of the treats that we sell.
Just a couple of hours after posting this, BRO announced they had taken in five boxers who desperately need help. Please consider a donation to Boxer Rescue Ontario.
One of the best things about being an independent company, is we don't have shareholders or investors who we need to do everything for. While most companies will publish a letter to their shareholders we decided to do a letter to our most important stakeholders, our customers.
Here is our reflection on 2017, and a look where we want to go in 2018.
