Bretagne, the last living Ground Zero search dog. Bretagne was 2 when she made the trip from Texas to New York to help. She's now retired from search and rescue and volunteers as a therapy dog in her home of Texas. She visited the 9/11 memorial last year on the 13th anniversary of the attacks.
One of the saddest stories of the attack was that the dogs felt like they were failing as they couldn't find any survivors. Volunteers would hide in the rubble to be found by the search dogs. You can hear Bretagne and her partner Denise' story in this interview.
